		<description>Right, Donnelly. It&#039;s like a pressure cooker, only it&#039;s specifically for canning. Some foods (like green beans) have to be canned with pressure in order to kill all the bacteria and remain preserved. Other, more acidic, foods (like tomatoes) can be canned just with boiling water. I agree it does seem a little scary at first but I&#039;ve been assured that if you do it correctly there&#039;s nothing to worry about. I recommend a canning jar lifter to get the hot jars out (there&#039;s one at canningpantry.com for $4.99).</description>

		<description>So, is this a pressure cooker made specifically for canning?  Or can you use a regular pressure cooker?  I&#039;m relatively new to the &quot;putting up&quot; world!  We did can a lot of pears last year, but it was kind of scary and seemed dangerous with all of the boiling water.  We also didn&#039;t have a good tool to get the jars in and out of the pot.</description>
